One Story Barndominium with 3 Bedrooms
A Country Home Designed for Comfortable, Long-Term Rural Living
Designed For You
For their country home, Rod and Cheryl set out to build a one story barndominium that combines practical single-level living with an attached three car garage. The layout balances comfortable residential space with generous storage and workspace flexibility, all under one roof. Built with durable, low-maintenance post frame construction, the home is designed to support their rural lifestyle for years to come.
Large Attached Garage
Barndominium with 3 Car Garage for Work & Storage
Three carriage-style overhead doors, framed by a faux wooden truss on the gable wall provide access into the large attached garage. Each door is accentuated with a dedicated light above, giving the front of Cheryl and Rod’s single story barndominium a warm, rustic presence. Functionally, the 10’ x 8’ overhead doors allow easy parking for passenger vehicles, while creating three defined access points.
The garage’s large footprint allows it to function for more than just parking vehicles. There is ample room for tools, projects, and assorted storage, all while maintaining comfortable working space. The interior layout smartly places a washroom, storage closet, and mudroom between the garage and main living area, creating a practical transition that keeps dirt and mess out.

Covered Porches
Extensive Covered Outdoor Space
Running along the full length of both sides of the single story barndo are two 10’ covered porches. Visually, the exposed fir posts and beams tie seamlessly into the wood-tone overhead doors and faux truss, reinforcing the rustic barndo appearance.
Beyond aesthetics, the covered porches are essential features for families that value time to slow down, relax, and connect with nature on their property by enjoying an outdoor morning coffee, game of cards, or shared meal. The full-length porches provide cover for all entryways, simplifying snow clearing in the winter, and reducing the amount of moisture and dirt that reaches the interior.

Intentional Exterior Details
White Barndominium Exterior with Wood Accents
On the exterior of the home, carefully selected optional features elevate the curb appeal of the barndo, and stand out against the crisp white metal siding. Wood-tone accents, including the overhead doors, faux truss, exposed beams, plus wooden shutters carry the rustic charm across the entire exterior, creating a cohesive design.
The roofline was also designed to subtly create visual interest. On the main building, a cupola and weathervane crown the roof peak—a perfectly fitting detail for a modern farmhouse. The roof above the porch features a peak detail centred over the sliding patio doors, drawing eyes to the entrance and breaking up the 80’ lean-to’s.

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Barndominium Floor Plan
Smart Layout for Comfortable Family Living
Inside the approximately 1,680 square foot one story barndominium living space lies three bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a spacious primary suite with a walk-in closet. The open-concept kitchen and living area create an inviting central gathering space with direct access to the covered patio, creating a layout that’s ideal for having family over and spending quality time.
The layout is thoughtfully arranged for comfortable rural living, offering single-level convenience without sacrificing modern finishes or practical flow.
