Jack's Calving Barn & Livestock Shelters
A Custom Livestock Facility Built for the Demands of Calving Season
Designed For You
Jack’s 50′ x 80′ x 16′ calving barn and nearby livestock shelters are built to handle the heavy demands of calving season in Canada. The barn includes space for indoor maternity pens, warm sleeping quarters, and flexible storage space—helping increase calf survival rates and make the season more manageable. Together, these cattle farm buildings create a durable, practical setup for managing cows and newborn calves.
Sleeping Quarters
Shortening Long Nights Calving
A second-floor mezzanine inside the calving barn creates a sleeping area where Jack can rest between checks without ever being far from the maternity pens. It helps break up those long, round-the-clock nights that every cattle producer knows well.
A window overlooking the lower-level pens lets Jack easily keep an eye on newborn calves without needing to head downstairs every time.

Multi-Use Spaces
Functional Space Adapts to Seasonal Needs
The largest of the calving barn is open, flexible space that adapts to seasonal needs. During calving, the clear-span layout gives plenty of room to set up temporary pens, keeping cows and calves inside where it’s warm and out of the wind.
Once calving wraps up, the pens come down and the space turns into practical equipment storage. Tractors, trucks, trailers, and other machinery stay protected from damaging weather. Two overhead doors in the large, multi-use area makes it easy to pull equipment in and out of the livestock building.

Finished Interior
Built for Calving
Jack’s barn is finished with thoughtful design details that make it purpose-built for calving. The entire structure is insulated and lined with metal, creating a warm, easy-to-clean space that protects calves from cold snaps and harsh winds.
A treated kick wall runs around the perimeter to protect the metal from hooves and prevent damage overtime—ultimately extending the life of the calving facility. Exhaust fans keep fresh air moving, supporting healthy conditions whether the barn is full of calves or full of equipment.

Livestock Shelters
Added Protection for Cattle
To support cattle once they move outdoors, Jack’s setup includes a partially enclosed lean-to attached to the main barn, and two standalone cattle shelters—one 24′ x 84′ and another 24′ x 162′. These livestock shelters give cows a dry, sheltered place to escape wind, snow, and bad weather.
All of the shelters include a treated kick wall to boost durability and protection—an important feature for any cattle housing structure.
