2024 marks a major milestone for Remuda Building—ten years of building exceptional post frame buildings for Alberta’s farmers, businesses, and acreage owners. This decade of growth and dedication has shaped Remuda into the preferred post frame builder in Alberta.
A Humble Beginning
The story of Remuda Building began well before its launch in 2014. Remuda Owner and CEO, Steve Schouten, had already established his construction career in 2007, focusing on decks, fences, and framing. With his rural agricultural background, Steve saw an opportunity to better align his work with his roots and pivoted to post frame building for farmers and property owners.
Rebranding his business, Steve launched Remuda Building with a mission to set a higher standard of customer service and construction solutions in the post frame industry. As new builds began to pop up in rural Alberta, Remuda quickly gained a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship, innovative designs, and extraordinary customer service.
Today, Remuda Building is recognized as a first-choice builder across Western Canada.
Cause for Celebration
Over the past decade, Remuda Building has celebrated several significant milestones:
- NFBA Membership: Since 2014, Remuda has been an active member of the National Frame Building Association (NFBA). This membership provides a platform for learning and collaboration with fellow industry leaders in the post frame industry across North America.
- New Office: Remuda expanded operations from Steve’s residential yard to a new headquarters along the Trans-Canada Highway near Langdon, Alberta.
- Expansion into Supply: In 2020, the acquisition of Strathmore Building Supplies led to the launch of Remuda Lumber & Supplies. The lumber yard was moved to Langdon to consolidate operations under one roof.
- Award-Winning Projects: Remuda has won “Building of the Year” awards from the NFBA in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
Throughout this journey and rapid growth, Remuda has remained true to its core values: putting customers first, keeping promises, respecting time, striving for excellence, and not making excuses.
