In 2022, Brad was on the hunt for a post-frame builder who could rise to the occasion and meet some distinctive requirements for his workshop and garage.

You see, Brad’s acreage falls under strict building control regulations by the municipal district that mandate all detached auxiliary buildings to match the aesthetics of the primary home. The challenge? The exterior of Brad’s home features many architectural details that are unique and commonly reserved for high-end residential construction – making it a unique task to replicate those features in a post-frame building. The result was a building with details and features rarely seen in post-frame projects.

When Brad approached Building Consultant, Manfred Lee, the team at Remuda eagerly embraced the challenge, committed to delivering creative solutions that met both Brad’s needs, and the requirements imposed by the county.

Today, we’re diving into the impressive journey of Brad’s acreage workshop and garage project – one that exemplifies commitment to listening to the customer, design excellence and detailed craftsmanship. Join us as we explore the distinctive features of this project, the challenges faced, and how Remuda’s innovative solutions and attention to detail brought this extraordinary garage to life.

To ensure a seamless match between Brad’s home and new acreage building, Remuda’s design team carefully considered the existing architectural elements on the home. They incorporated noticeable features such as faux trusses on the gables and matched the stone wainscoting of the house with Versetta stone on the garage.

Less noticeable, but still important details included the use of Hardie Board siding. Typically, post-frame buildings are finished with metal cladding. However, to achieve a seamless match with Brad’s home and reflect the upscale aesthetic of the area, Remuda proposed the Hardie Board solution. Another crucial design consideration was the roof system. To ensure cohesion with the main house, the garage’s gable roof was designed to mirror the pitch and style of Brad’s home.

After finalizing the designs in late December, construction began in the spring and the workshop was completed by mid-June. The construction of Brad’s project was overseen by foreman Luke Olson and his crew. The result is a testament to their excellent craftsmanship, commitment to the smallest of details, and ensuring the customer walks away with a Remuda building they are proud to own.
